Amazing find!! This is a really great resource, thank you. I've planned on departing from Mississauga, up through the Culham trail to the Caledon trailway, ride some trails in Albion Hills, then continuing north on the Tecumseth/Cookstown trail until I decide to turn back. Unfortunately, doesn't seem like I'll hit much singletrack, but I can't find a route with more technical trails to which I can depart from home.

Newfoundland here! Living now on the Southwest coast, Codroy Valley, but from St. John's originally. I spent 5 years in Alberta's Rockies in my early twenties, got into MTB, and never looked back. NL is a wild rugged place, and built for Biking. Forestry and dirt roads, ATV trails, footpaths and hiking trails aplenty, but a paucity of dedicated MTB routes. WHO CARES? It's a real adventure getting in the Backcountry, and the beauty of it is few/no people, wildlife galore, and scenery to kick yer 4$$. Mountains, forest, bogs, coastline... Oh yeah, and the fresh salt air. At work now, so no pics. I'm on my third Trek, a 6000, and dying to expand the fleet to ss, road, anything with 2 wheels and no motor. Been lurking here for a while, trying to devise some baggage of my own. Come check out this end of the Country, The Far East of the Western world (tourism slogan). Did I mention the World's Greatest Fish & Chips? Cod, of course.

Papa Tac - I'd love to see some .gpx of Newfoundland ... or some suggested routes out of Port aux Basques. It sounds like it is worth the ferry trip! I've only heard from friends who have done motorcycle trips ... tales of great beauty and services few and far between!
Also if anyone on here has the .gpx of the Cape Breton Across the Highland Challenge route... I've been itching to explore that ... but my vacation never seems to align with the event.

Heh, I had to google .gpx.... Wish I could help out with that , but I'm Luddite in my approach to most things - no GPS, no cel, and I limit my internet use to BHSP Porn (bikehikeskipaddle) As for routes directly out of Port aux Basques, the NL T'Railway is really the only non-paved route to take (old NL rail bed that is now a multi-use trail as part of the TCT). Once you get further along, there are other side trips and routes to follow in the interior and near the coast. Lewis Hills/Sepentine lakes area, so many Forestry Resource roads, and my favourite areas of Codroy Valley (where I now live) and Gros Morne National Park. I'd be happy to show anyone around, or try to answer other questions. Cheers

New to this forum and just starting to get interested in this bikepacking thing. Currently collecting extended hike/biking gear and want to try some sort of ride this coming summer. Would rather do mtb. I live in currently live in Toronto but have connections to Guelph, Milton etc. I have been looking into the Ganaraska forest as it's extensiveand somewhat close. Any bike specific info would be great.

Prince Edward Island ( a couple weeks of the year anyway) and then not quite Canadian (except in the blood) just 100 km south of Quebec in Vermont the rest of the year. I've been trying to make the off road/ on dirt commute between the two on the Trans Canada Trail for a few years now with limited success. https://picasaweb.google.com/parisbrestparis/TransCanadaTrailI usually spend summers in PEI as well. Halifax the rest of the year right now. Groundshine, if youre back this year lets go for a ride!

I've been lurking for the past few months, first time posting. I'm in Fredericton, NB for school, but grew up & spend summers in Charlottetown, PEI. If you're in Charlottetown this summer, pop by Sporting Intentions, and ask for Connor. I'm in the bike shop there most days.

West Quebec here! In Chelsea, just north of Ottawa (in the Gatineau Park, if any of you have ridden around here). Just getting into the bikepacking thing, after a few years refining my ultralight BACKpacking kit -- luckily a lot of it transfers well for bikepacking. Am looking at getting a seatbag for my hardtail, a 'vintage' Stumpjumper M2, and have done bikepacking-style gravel road touring on my cx bike.
