Best camp shoe after riding all day?

+1 on Sanuks. While riding they are strapped to the top of my Viscacha seat bag.  Of course, I have only been on one trip so far, so this is all highly subject to change.

I also just wear my bike shoes or none at all. But to reiterate, that insole sandal idea is awesome! I'm thinking hard about that one.

Wanted a shoe I could use in camp and could get me through a hike a bike.  I felt that my ride shoes are comfortable enough to do a hike-a-bike if I break down. 

Crocs are nice b/c they are light / can use them in dry or wet conditions (steam crossings, etc) / and are also good enough for a hike a bike.

I started the Great Divide with a pair of crocs shoes, and I loved them. they're light, they're waterproof, and you can kinda squeeze them if you try hard enough.

Somewhere along the way I lost one of the shoes, and trashed the other one.
Since than I've been using my SealSkinz socks if it's cold or wet, or just go bare feet.

I remember that some people suggested some neoprene calf socks which are similar to the sealskinz, so I guess that's also a good option.

None. I don't take racing shoes on a bikepacking trip. I make sure my shoes are not too tight. On this last trip I even managed to wear my down sleeping socks inside the bikeshoes in camp when it got cold.

The stiff sole of a bike shoe is not a problem for camp use, as you are not walking very far. The bigger issue is whether they open up nicely. I got a pair of Specialized Rime MTB shoes  this spring. They work very well for this because the tongue only opens on one side, and it has an elastic strap over the foot there, so when you undo the normal straps, you still have retention to your foot.

I brought plastic bags as liners in case my bikeshoes got wet.

If I did bring campshoes it would depend on the trip what kind. If it's hot weather, some kind of sandal would be great to let your feet cool in camp. If there were river crossings something that could be used for that. If there were long sections of hike a bike, something gripppy and secure(ie not Crocs) for those sections.

I ride in Chacos so I don't need to carry anything else.  It's good to get used to being barefoot too.  I can do a ten mile walk barefoot.

I wear these. They are water proof, warm, light, pack small, comfy, and the Inners are part of my sleep system. Lighter than a pair of warm socks.

Wow.  I never thought of putting training wheels on my bike as part of my sleep system.  Maybe I'm doing the camping thing wrong?  Barefoot for me usually works fine.  To each their own, but they don't look lighter than a pair of warm socks to me.

Exactly what I do.  Sanuks strapped to the top of my viscacha.  Super light, just not overly warm or waterproof.

I use the Timberland Radler

Lightweight, easy to pack either zipped up or smashed flat, and still has a sole to protect the bottom of the feet.

Remove the insoles as they are useless. From fully wet after a river crossing they took about two hours to dry while riding too which is nice and it saved my bike shoes from being wet the rest of the trip.

I love being able to get out of my bike shoes after a long day. I think it's healthy for your feet and leads to less fatigue over time as well. For a milder weather camp shoe, I've become a big fan of the Vibram 5 Fingers. Very lightweight and packable, more foot coverage than a pair of flip-flops and they dry quickly.

IMO - Chaco's: way too heavy for bikepacking, Croc's: too bulky and don't fare well in the water, normal/running/tennis/trail shoes: too heavy and dry slowly.

 Out of the barefoot running craze, came some pretty cool huarache style sandals.  They're really light, packable, do fine for steam crossings, and let your feet dry out after riding.   Here's some links to a few companies making them, some with DIY kits:

On trips where I'm gonna relax enough to want camp shoes, I just ride on super nice, super light platform pedals (http://amzn.com/B00E7UZ5OK) and wear cool, comfy shoes.  Often just Tevas, which I can wear with socks when it cools off in camp.  If not sandals, I'll still carry dry socks.

Simplest is awesomest!

The one downside to the Vibrams I pictured above is that they can be a little bit of a process to put on - not exactly convenient for those times I need to get up in the middle of the night. So the last overnight trip I went on I brought a pair of Croc flip-flops. They weigh almost nothing, pack much flatter than the Croc clogs and are really comfortable. When the weather cooled off in the evening, I threw on a pair of wool Injinji socks (intended for use with shoes like the Vibram 'Five Fingers). The separate toes on the Injinjis interface nicely with flips.

I love those welgo platform petals. I just got a set for both my mountain bike and commuter/bikepacking bike. You do need to be a bit careful though because those studs will chew though your shoes over time. They are VERY aggressive.
