Every Sunday, I do a "Sunday Gravel Grind" for those brave souls who desire to brave the cold, snow, ice, or whatever we find out exploring. I started a website dedicated to tracking down routes through the Appalachians to give like minded cyclists a resource to put together their own bikepacking trips and an image gallery became part of it.
Since I've seen some pictures from other people's trips, I wanted to post a link to some that we took last weekend when we investigated the trails at Rocky Fork state park near the Tn. N.C. border. The mountains are barren right now except for pines and mountain laurel but there is a still a beauty amidst the sleeping giants. Every time when we are riding and we go past an exposed rock that is part of the mountain itself I have to pat it and say "Hey there old timer" or something similarly silly.
