Hi all. I wanted to pass along some details about some upcoming presentations that Michael "Mac" McCoy (longtime Adventure Cycling staff member and researcher/designer of the Great Divide route) will be doing later this month at two REI stores in the San Francisco Bay Area. He'll be talking about the origins of the GDMBR and the brand new edition of the "Cycling the Great Divide" guidebook as well as showing some slides from his recent personal trips on the route.
Wednesday, October 23, 7–8:30 pm
Where: Corte Madera REI, 213 Corte Madera Town Center
Thursday, October 24, 7–8:30 pm
Where: Berkeley REI, 1338 San Pablo Avenue
These are free events and space is limited so please RSVP at
info@adventurecycling.org by Friday, October 18 if you plan to attend.
And keep an eye out for future dates (tentatively in March 2014) in Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver/Boulder, and Albuquerque/Santa Fe. These will probably take place at REIs as well, which is fitting when you consider that REI was a huge supporter of the Great Divide route from the get-go to the tune of $40,000.
