I've tried searching here for info on repurposed bike bags, but came up empty. Apologies if my search skills are so lame that I've missed tons of great info.

Offhand, it kinda seems like there should be a Gear Section in this forum. ? (But maybe it's "all gear all the time" anyway!)

So, I'm into repurposing military surplus bags as bike bags. It's neat to find ones that don't need any modifying. They're not always tons cheaper than purpose-made bags but I kinda like the styling anyway and even the Message of "beating swords into plowshares." But typically they're half price, or less if they're used.

So I've sorted it out that the following bags make neat bike bags:

*Sleeping Carrier System -- huge saddlebag or handlebarbag

*Waist Pack -- med-lg handlebarbag

*General Purpose MOLLE Pouch -- stem-bag or seat-post-bag

*Sustainment Pouch -- med-lg saddlebag

*PRC-126 Radio Pocket -- stem pannier

*Jeep Rollbar Saddlebags -- made by 2, 3 companies -- full-frame bag packs -- $30-40, new. Gotta add velcro or buckle-straps to them.

I'm working on a detailed report with pics. Plus I'm also going to be stocking these goodies at my OYB website fundraiser shop.

But does anyone know of others? There's gotta be more!

(I tell ya, though, that Duct Tape Frame Pack project thread is pretty rockin'!)
