This rig is finally coming together for some epic FL ultras.  I borrowed some aerobars, unfortunately the elbow pads don't move to the rear so they will have to do until I can get some Profile's.  Bags are DIY from another forum member.  Front wheel is Schmidt Son28IS for da jigawatts.

I'm looking forward to racing the Singletrack Samurai Series starting next month with the Cross Florida ITT and ending in February with the Huracan 300.  If you see this bike and a noob atop it, feel free to say hello.

Looks Sharp! Good Luck! Any chance we could we get a picture looking down on the fully loaded bars?

A question. At what point do you guys decide to use aero bars? I am getting stuff together for few extended trips in Colorado next summer/fall. I am figuring on 40ish miles a day for 2 or 3 days with some singletrack and some dirt road. I almost feel like I wont use the aero bars enough to justify but I have zero experience to base that from.

I did a hundie a couple weeks ago, about 60 of it being singletrack, and at the end I regretted not having varying hand and butt positions.  With aerobars, the positions are full tuck (still not nearly as laid out as on a roadbike in a tuck), standard, and hands on the elbow pads for an even more upright position.  I'll take a pic looking down once I get the sling/drybag mounted up and figure out the rest of the cockpit.

IMO, at 40 mile days, you will most likely be fine without them.  Unless it's windy.  Or you knock out 40 miles in 2 hours.

Awesome! I really wish I was able to do the CFLITT. Have any other pictures of/any info on your seatbag?

I only know that it was handcrafted by trebor with love and is infused with awesomesauce.  I know less than that and have used it even less.

Good looking set up. Hopefully I will see you at the Huracan 300. We have about 5 guys coming from South Carolina for the Huracan. All new to Ultra racing. We all come from an adventure racing background, alot of 24 hour plus races, but a lot more discplines: ie: Biking, Swimming, paddling, running....All I need is a GPS and I will be ready to go.
