Greetings,
I needed to make a frame bag for myself and I thought I might make a video tutorial at the same time. I hope this helps anyone looking to make their own gear.

Great How-To!  I wish I would have had this before I made mine.

What size needle did you use in your machine?
Did you think about putting a cushion on the down tube to keep things from rattling?

Thanks, Glad to help. I used a "denim" needle as it is the strongest one I can use on this machine. Also, I had intended to use "tough-tek" fabric to protect the frame but I forgot about it until it was too late. Instead I ran a strip of one inch flat webbing lengthwise on the lower sections of the bag for protection.

While this is no use for me (couldn't get an iron on patch to hold), it will prove most valuable for my "crafting" wife, who I've requested a frame bag from. Thanks a bunch

Very nice greenwater!

This is how a gear-making how-to video should be produced!

very well done, especially for your first frame pack.  great video too.  I must confess to fast forwarding through a few sections, but I've also made my share of frame packs already.  Have fun riding it!

That was awesome! Thanks! I've just started sewing my own gear. I started with stuff sacks, a tarp and a quilt. This is another goal to strive for.

awesome video, very helpful. What kind of cord did you use for the parts that you can hold to open the zipper?

Glad it helped. This thread is an oldie! Any 1/8" or 2mm cord will work, even shoelace material if you can't find anything else. You could also use grossgrain ribbon or flat nylon webbing. Be creative. Good luck.
