We are currently in the process of setting up a small bikeraft rental business that we are calling Big City Bikerafts.  We're starting small with a fleet of 4 Alpacka packrafts and gear.

We first learned about bikerafting here at bikepacking.net.  THANK YOU!  One day, we had a crazy idea that it might be a fun Saturday to bike the Trinity River Levees from downtown Dallas to Irving, float back to downtown Dallas in the bikerafts, and then ride home before dinner.  We weren't able to find any outfitters nearby, but eventually found a few up in Utah and Colorado that hooked us up.

It was pouring rain on the day of our trip, but a little rain wasn't going to ruin our adventure!  Twelve of us set out on our bikes for what turned into a 6 hour trip, and we had more fun we could have imagined.

We literally have not been able to stop thinking about our trip and we know there are plenty of other people that would love it too.   The worst part of the entire adventure was having to return the bikerafts, knowing we couldn't do it again the next weekend.  So after sharing our story with many people and realizing there was a definite interest, we have decided to start a fleet of our own bikerafts.

We still have a few administrative task to finish up before we can rent them out but we are starting to take reservations now.  We'll be ready to rent them out by January 2013.

We'd like to extend you an offer for $20 off the first day of two or more new bikeraft package rentals, just mention this post.

Please check out our website, like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter, and wish us luck!

Best of luck Will and Evan.
Do you have a trip report(picts) from your trinity trip?
I'd love to get an idea of what bikepacking/rafting is like in the Big D area.
That's not too far for me to drive.

There are plenty of places to get dirty and wet here in Dallas, but I don't know I'd drive from CO.  You could have a blast with these things in the Rockies!  We will be ship the bikeraft packages.  Start planning a route and make a reservation!

Check out the trip report here:

Wow great trip, and nice to see some local adventure.  We have used those levee's and made a trip from Dallas to FTW basically all by dirt.  The trip back via boat would take some time, but there are some incredible stretches of the Trinity out around the 360 area.  Much more scenic that what is in Dallas.

More photos. We did a quick loop biking up White Rock Creek and the paddled down White Rock Creek to White Rock Lake. It was great! Now we know what Felt like Hernando de Soto must have felt like when he reached the gulf!

Fall weather is almost here so I thought I'd give you guys an update and tell you about our new fall special.  We're doing pretty well.  We've had a few less renters than we expected but we are getting some rentals.  Hopefully we'll be able to make back at least the money we had to spend on the liability insurance soon.  It's been a really fun project so far and it's given us a great excuse to get out more.

We're starting a special today, we're going to cut our prices by 25% for a while so a day rental with all the gear included will only be $45 (plus shipping).  Just wanted to let you guys know about it and say thanks for all your support.
