I packed my Fargo up for, I think, the first time since finishing the TD last year.  I guess I had my bike camping fix for awhile.

Compared to the TD load, I took less of some things—spare parts, batteries, food—and more of others—a real tent, and cooking gear.

It was a great time.  The days are getting longer and the stoke is rising.

Round-trip mileage from my door was 125, but most of that is on paved MUPs.  This trip—maybe it was the headwinds, maybe it was the pavement—has me thinking of taking the last train to Morgan Hill on a Friday night, setting up a base camp just inside Coe, exploring and camping further into the park on Saturday, then catching the train back home from San Jose on Sunday.

I finished the 2013 TD.  I did the whole damn thing,
excluding the 2013 detours, in good style and—as
far as I know—totally in accordance with the rules.

We just did a bikepacking overnighter to Mississippi Lake and back a few weeks ago.  The weather was perfect.  I would love to explore a little deeper into the park and do some longer days, but the two guys I was riding with were just getting into biking season shape.  Later in the summer you should take the train the other direction and head from SF into the Marin Headlands and Tomales Bay area.... if you haven't already that is.

By coincidence I am headed to Tomales this weekend.  Staying at a cabin but taking my bike.  I've ridden up there before, but if you have any route pointers, I'm all ears.
