Just signed up and first post. Thanks for letting me in!
I am thinking about giving bikepacking a try. I have done lots of travel camping on my mid sized dirt motorcycle so I have gear, and I have ridden bicycles most of my life and have a new gravel bike with lots of mounts on the frame, so why not?

Hey everyone, I?m Brian. I?m a Chef and spend a lot of time in the kitchen under fluorescent lights. Last year I told myself I need to get outdoors as much as possible so I bought my first bike in over 15 years and have outfitted it for a bikepacking trip down the C&O canal (185ish miles). I?m excited to get out there and the canal seems like it?s the best beginner bikepacking route because there are hiker/biker campsites every 5miles with well pumps and portapotties. It?s also flat as a board... what could go wrong!?

Hi - I?m Steve Rainey or ?Hooter.? Of course I?ve been riding since I was a kid and I?m still riding at 61. I currently have a vintage ?95 Cannondale F2000 World Champion Series and a 2007 Lynskey Custom titanium road bike with SRAM Red - so I like lightweight and quality. As I get older comfort is becoming very important. I?ve done a little ?bikepacking? on both these steeds which just means loading up a seat pack, handlebar bag and hitting the trail or road. Now I want to do both - anytime I want so I?m looking at gravel bikes. I?ve kinda narrowed it down to a Salsa Cutthroat V2 Apex 1, Litespeed Gravel GRX 400 or if I can spring the extra cash a Lynskey GR300 or maybe a Chumba Terlingua Steel. Primary goal is to take up Bikepacking with a solid all-in-one kinda bike. I?d appreciate any advice anyone is willing to share.

Well heck looks like I haven't been on the site in two years, I am a recumbent trike rider & builder I ride mostly off paved surfaces now-a-days and been on trikes since the very early 1980's. I have been stuck as the only caregiver for a parent with ALZ since 2015 and really haven't been able to get out a ride any major rides since the last recon ride on TDR route. I think i have two or three Seattle To Portlands, The Salem Gravel grinder, and possibly one or two other longer riders since summer 2015. This situation is coming to an end and I am planning for what comes next. Mostly include some sort of Nomadic life with ALLOT more cycling, either car/van/RV or possibly bicycle camper nomadic life. Hope everyone is doing well in this times, RIDE ON.

Hi everyone!! I'm Bonnie Gagnon. I've been on this site for a five years. I love bikepacking. I started in '16, just 4 months before I raced the Tour Divide for the first time. I finished TD again in '19. I survived a deadly lung disease in 2010 and have an inoperable heart condition that has given me a shortened life span. I have permanent lung damage, extreme asthma and permanent intestinal issues from fusobacterium necrophorum. I'm super grateful to be alive and appreciate every moment and opportunity to shine and lift others up! I live in beautiful Colorado and embrace the mountains every chance I get. I hope to finish the Tour Divide one more time.

New guy here, just introducing myself.
I live in Vermont, where we are lucky enough to have more dirt roads that paved and plenty of opportunity to bikepack. I've new to the game and have a few S24Os under my belt. I'm heading out on a multi-night trip in a few hours and was just double checking gear, packing lists, etc. and came across this forum.
I'll be back to add some stoke, ask and answer some questions, and enjoy this community.

Not sure if I've introduced myself or not. Anyways, I'm pretty new to this whole thing.

Ummmm, Hi guys and gals. I've recently arrived back in the US after traveling through Europe and Africa for a few years. I decided to settle down in AZ. Looking forward to meeting some fellow cyclist. I ride everything from DH to CX and everything in between, if it's got 2 wheels I love it. I don't do social media other than Instagram, Kavika1991@ on Instagram in case you guys want to see some mediocre bike pictures. Cheers!

Hi, I'm Mark I go by my nickname of Diesel for a few years now. I started mtbing back in the 90's going to local race's but found that they where to fast a pace for me. After going to Winchcombe Gloucestershire to take part in the HONC, (Hell Of the North Cotswolds) and a few mtb marathons Then onto the wrt (welsh ride thing) I soon found that bike backing was more my type of riding as I'm not a fast rider but can on and on all day at a steady pace.

I had some experience hiking, including functioning as a wild officer for the Forest Service. It appeared to be simply normal to attempt to consolidate the two.

Hello! I mostly ride in the city now but I still consider myself to be a mountain biker. Later!
