Hey all,

Did you see the new Surly Krampus? 29x3.0 tires. For those who want to ride rigid for simplicity, this gives some cushion as well as the ability to ride over loose and rough surfaces. Could be a very nice bikpepacking set-up.

Not sure what size the one I saw in photos was, but the space inside the main triangle for a frame bag was tiny.

safe riding,

I'm more interested in the Knard tires (29x3.0) and the Rabbit Hole rim than the bike.  It would make for a sweet semi-fat front set up, which would work well for a rigid set up.  Don't really care much for it in the rear.

by all indications this bike is going to be in HUGE demand! Sounds like the frame/fork will be available for pre-order yet this fall & will include a set of tires & the complete build will come out next March, last i heard frame/fork combo will run $750 & complete build will be $1950. I've heard from one person that rode one already & he said it felt lighter than it was & was a blast to ride, sounds like the Rabbit Hole rim & Knard tire will also work on the standard Surly Karate Monkey fork which is probably what I'll do for now (when available) but I can see owning a Krampus, they look like a lot of fun!
