Nalgene Water Bottle Cage

If anyone else is old school enough to still be using Nalgene bottles (I'm one!) here are some plans to build a water bottle cage to carry the beasts (also works with PowerAId and Gatoraid 32oz bottles).

Why bother?  I like using these bottles with my UV water purifier.

Looks solid! I was going through the different cages available through QBP and saw these ones that are also designed to hold wider bottles.

No Nalgene for me, but I have a good collection of Gatorade and Nestea bottles for sure.  Nice job on your bottle basket- did you build the rack too?  I can only see a little bit of it in the picture and really it interests me more than the bottle.

I missed those Topeak cages when I was looking for a commerical product-- I did see the one they make that holds a 1 or 1.5 Liter bottle though.


The rear rack is a standard Blackburn with a custom adapter bracket.  The bracket is made of .050" aluminum.  When I made it, I didn't think it would last long, I figured it would crack and fail...so I have a stainless steel version as backup, but haven't needed to install it.
