There seems to be a fair number of SoCal riders frequenting this forum. I'm posting on behalf of a friend who had his bike stolen from his vehicle in West LA today. Specifically off of Olympic Ave in Santa Monica.

The bike is unique - Blacked out Jones Space Frame and Truss fork.
The Specs:

Black steel frame and fork
Black on black "Jones" sticker on frame downtube. Will reflect light at night.
2x10 Shimano XT Drivetrain
170mm crank length
Jones Loop Bars
Velocity Blunt/P-35 rims
Thomson Stem and Seatpost
Maxxis Ardent 2.4 rubber
Avid BB7 brakes

If anyone sees this bike, call the Santa Monica PD at 310-458-8491.

According to Jeff Jones, there is no other build in SoCal that meets this spec.

Thanks!

Bummer!  I hate that kinda chit.
Will keep a look out down here in OC.

The painful irony is the thief often has no idea what he's stolen - it's just a bike to him.

I don't know what the question is - but the answer is: Lubrication!

It's almost my neighborhood, so I pay attention. My son had 2 bikes stolen, one also from our car, the other at the high school.

Sorry to hear it. It's uniqueness will make it dicey to unload. Don't give up hope...I hear about recoveries after months-long waits.

Thieving scum...

If it's any consolation I had my bike stolen and got it back (well the frame anyway) a year latter.

I just heard about this by the owner himself. I just finished building mine(having so much fun on it). I was driving to the trailhead with the bike on my roof rack. This guy was riding along the opposite way. He probably saw me and thought (BINGO! I found my bike back). We talked, he found out it wasn't his. Feel sorry for him and angry at the fu**in thieves. I'm keeping my eyes open for it.
