My latest rig. Here it is packed up for a 90 mile overnighter along the CDT by the Chain of Craters Scenic Byway in western New Mexico. Happy travels! W _________________________________________ Love my Klein! The stuff sacks have little handles at the bottom that I attached to the frame via velcro tabs. Anchors them pretty well together with seat rail straps. No thigh rub either. My sleeping bag and clothing are in the seat bags. Stove, food, tarp and rain coat on my back. Sleeping pad, tools,first aid and snackage on the bars.  |

This is my setup for 2-3 week trips. I have and Osprey 18 pack that I put light bulky things in and for extra capacity on food. The weight of the setup with bags, a minimalist cook kit, 30 degree bag, and pad/chair kit with a two person Big Agnus flycreek tent is just under 18 lbs sans food. Light enough and comfortable come camp time.

My current mount is a rigid Grammo Toa carbon 29er, I will be adding a suspension fork to it this year, but last year it served me well enough in it's rigid form.   As much as I do love this bike and will keep it forever, there is a Ti version that is just sooo sexy it's difficult not to have a wandering eye.  Lynskey builds the Ti frames for Grammo and can be ordered through Grammo's site http://grammo-bici.com/ProductDesc.aspx?code=FR066&type=1&eq=&desc=Toa-Titanium-29er&key=it I think I'm going to have to start saving my lunch money....  |

Mine is the Specialized Carve: Packraft is under the handlebars. Spare tube, tire change stuff and a water filer is in the tiny framebag. Tent is on the rack. Sleeping bag and stove are in the Viscacha seat bag. Clothes, PFD and paddles are in the backpack (not shown). Same set up on my Bros borrowed Rockhopper, but tent, and sleeping bag along with other stuff is in the dry sack on the rear rack.  |

My Waltworks on my Colorado Trail through ride last summer. Plenty of space, full cook kit, no back pack, lots of room for water, days worth of peanut m&m's and pop tarts, etc...oh ya, all bags built by me.

My LHT on a month long tour through Panama and Costa Rica last November and December. Full camp kit, clothes to look decent in for after riding, rain kit, warm clothes, surf shorts, go pro, everything, no back pack and I still brought too much. All the bags I built myself.

Bluerock Wilderness area, Kananaskis Country, Alberta, Canada, 2009; my bike bivy prior to the Sheep River Trail. 28km return, more a day ride, but some awesome scenerey enroute; Mt Gibraltar dominates the scenery of a good portion of the ride. A couple of days later I spent about an hour unraveling and cutting the horse hair wrapped around the chainring and the cogset. As the trail is frequented by cowboys [really!] the horses shed and I guess I picked the horse tail hair up as I bushwhacked around bottomless mud pits.
