I really have to get back to New Zealand... spent a week there for World Championships in 2006, but never made it out of Rotorua!  Somehow working as a race mechanic just leaves you no time to actually see the cool parts of the world you're in.  Thanks for sharing - photos are sweet.

I don't know about the GSB but I think the KB is every other year; next event is in 2014.

Great photos of the bikes. There were some cool gizmo's and gadgets that people had on their bikes and some pretty interesting packs. Thanks for sharing  thumbsup

I'm kind of hoping they sort it out so they run in alternate years....... <crosses fingers>

There is also Sifters Brevet, I cant even pronounce it myself !
http://sifter-writes-bikes.blogspot.co.nz/2011/02/te-tawhio-o-whanganui.html
Its in Maori. Oh I see, Tawhio means "to circle".  The circling of Whanganui sounds about right : )

And, I just found someone else's report on it.

I haven't done this one myself. Apparently you can choose your own course, as long as you meet up each night at the same place. I think that's the idea, and because there is accommodation, you don't need so much gear.

Cheers
