Anyone hunting from the Bike?

Looking at options for adding a scabbard to haul the rifle and possibly a sled to tow behind to pack out.  Montana Scabbards makes a sweet easy to mount verson, anyone else found a suitable rig?

I've seen photos of bows and rifles loaded up on fat bikes. I imagine anything that they use on 4x4s would work on a bike with a bit of adaptation.

I've used a standard saddle scabbard attached with camstraps without problem.  Don't have a meat carry system, but would be interested in what others are using.

Have you checked out the Cogburn rack?

I was checking one out at my LBS and it seems well made and sturdy, and adaptable enough to carry a number of different items securely.

As far as packing meat out, I've heard of some folks using BOBs and such. Obviously depends on terrain. Even if you just pack quarters out seperately in a hunting pack, as you might if you were hunting on foot, it's still going to be faster on a bike.

i plan to for the first time this year. Ive thought about a scabbard on the bike but worried about falling and and not being able to save the bike(dropping on my riffle/bow) my hunting pack carries my riffle/bow and is fairly comfortable while riding. As far as packing out i was thinking of more than one trip or loading the bike and HABing out

Cogburn rack works but is super heavy. BOB trailer works for meat. Undecided on best method for rifle......
