I've got duck feet. What can people recommend for a shoe with a really wide toe box? I would prefer something with the appearance of a "normal" shoe but I also like a stiff sole.

Thanks.

Check out Lakes mtb shoes if you can find them.  Their wides are EE and have a roomier toe box than any of the others I've tried.

Quack, quack... Me too! Mine are 12EE. Shimano MT33-class shoe is what I normally wear. Relatively cheap, laces, hikes very well, basic black... Only downside is the weight of the soles, which make them so nice to hike in.  -B

The Lake wides are not wide enough for my feet.  I have high arches and wide toes.  I generally use flat pedals and some old keen sandals or hiking shoes in the summer.  I like clipless just fine, but I wont sacrifice shoe comfort to get them.

Any suggestions on a winter MTB riding boot with a wide footbed/toe box?

I had a mid-weight pair of Lake boots that I wore out.  I don't think that type (neoprene uppers) is being made anymore.

Just beginning to look again for a winter riding boot and would appreciate the advice.

I have size 11 4E and have been enjoying the pearl izumi x-road fuel size 46.  My feet don't goto sleep.  They look like regular shoes except for the red color.  I also need to break in some Pearl X-alps the off road version with a heavier sole.  Best fit I could find with clips and a usually a good price $50-$100.
