How many miles can you plan per day for a beach ride like this?

This was a short trip more for the adventure than covering miles. I think it was less than 12 miles total for both days, but I didnt start until maybe 6pm the first day. I rode leisurely for an hour or so to my camp, which left plenty of time for making camp, eating dinner, skipping rocks, and enjoying the sunset. The next morning, I rode another ~6 miles or so and it went by really quickly and I was back at work relatively early.
The beach riding is almost all flat (since it is all at sea level) and this particular route is almost all sand, so the riding went pretty easily/quickly. I havent done any longer beach rides yet because nearly the entirely shoreline here is privately owned, but I know there are some 20+ mile stretches of beach on the Washington coast that I hope to ride later this summer.
