Debeque to Palisade via Little Bookcliffs Wild Horse Range.  The "Waylon" portion is technically closed to bikes.

Enjoy!

Nice one Joel.

Looked like maybe one or two more days of sun woulda saved you some mud sloggin'.

What'd you do for water out there?  Melt snow?

There's plenty of water up there, at least in spring.  We camped near a clear pond (which froze) the first night, and the WSA has spring-fed troughs for the horses all over the place.  Never seen them dry.  We didn't even have to filter, just Aquamira drops.

The mud kept the vehicles out!  We saw a Jeep the second day but they couldn't make the climb.

Excellent video.  How many miles a day were you and the dogs traveling?

Not very far, 20 miles a day or so.  The storms, mud, and non-existent trails made those long miles however.  The route from second camp to the bottom of the hike-a-bike was like 7 miles, took three hours.

Did you have to slow down for the dogs? I am planning a few nights out with my dog, but I don't want to exhaust her. She's a Red Heeler mix, so has the energy for it.

Them's some fast dogs, so we didn't go slow but but we kept the mileage to like 20-25 a day.  There was lots of time to sleep in and play mini Bocce Ball on this trip.  Any type of heeler should be able to handle that after a little training. The feet go before the legs.

Those dogs are MANIACS! I love it. I have a 1 yo pup I would like to ride with. Been training her by regular running and this week for the first time I was not dragging her back to the house. In fact, she took herself for another romp around the hood after we got back (without my knowledge).
