Mt Hood loop pictures and very short write up

Hey Everyone,
Here are some pictures from a bike tour I did July 13th through 15th.
I left our house in SE Portland Friday morning and made it up through the springwater corridor to Boring and then the backroads to Brightwood. From there up to Lolo Pass. Ran into hut-to-hut honcho Don at the Lolo pass hut that night and asked him if I could stay in the hut. He said sure.
Saturday morning down the pass to eat brunch in Parkdale and stock up on food. Then hike-a-biked up Oak Ridge Trail to Surveyor's Ridge Trail. Took that to the southern end where I saw a lynx. Then up to High Prairie where I camped that night at about 5500 feet.
Sunday morning up early and riding along the ridge. Sun was out at first bit but then quickly became overcast, misty, and cool and ran into some snow. Made my way down to Bennett Pass on 35. From there I road along 35 (hardly any cars so early on a sunday morning) to Government Camp where I ate breakfast. It was still cool and misty. From there down the Crosstown and Pioneer Bridle trails to Lolo Pass Rd again and Brightwood. Then back to Portland.
Pretty dang good adventure for my first bikepacking trip. though next time I think I'll go around the mountain in the other direction and then go to Hood River and then through the Columbia River Gorge back to Portland.
take care, Matt
