Hey fellow bikepackers!
I just discovered this site and kept reading a lot of the posts. I also know about the Tour Divide, I saw the whole documentation of 2010. If I had the possibility, I'd definitely try this.

Anyway, I am specialized on making bikepacking tours through the European Alps, and if the weather allows I spend the night outside. I thought I'd share my video of the 2010 Transalp tour, which lasted 7 days and where I had to pass 46.000 ft uphill in mostly difficult terrain. One challenge was to keep my baggage at a minimum cause often I had to carry the bike, too.

Transalp 2010

Have fun and have a nice holiday!

P.S.: The video is in German, but I added Englisch subtitles.

Beautiful!  What a place. Loved the outtakes section at the end. A glimpse into the world of self-filmed solo adventures. Curious what photo gear you used. Still and video cameras and tripod? Lots of work there. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the feedback!
For the 2010 video I used my old Canon Powershot G7 digital camera, hence the lack of 16:9 resolution, but still it is HD. Of course, the sound quality is not too great and the video functions are limited. I used a mini-tripod named Gorillapod, which is perfect for this.
For the 2011 video (which will be uploaded tonight) I used the Canon Powershot G12. I also improved my filming and editing abilities, and a best friend who is a sound engineer added self-composed music and improved the sound quality massively. I am very happy with the result! Stay tuned...

Thanks for the tech response and looking forward to the new footage! Really impressed with the point of view footage not being a dedicated POV camera too. Carrying a loaded bike over your shoulders AND filming a handheld camera shows dedication and strength! Enjoyed the trip. Thanks again.
