Hello

I am planning A dirt touring trip this fall from my place in west Phoenix to the south rim, maybe beyond? My plan is to hit up Wickenburg, Yarnell, Skull valley, Prescott till i hit the coco route at 89a / mingus where i will either go to williams or flag depending on weather and how i feel at that moment. My problem is finding my way from Prescott (think white spar campground) to where the 89 and the coco route meet. Now remember this is a touring trip not a hard core bike pack, but i found A good looking dirt road that runs north from Humbolt to the 89 just a couple miles from the intersection i am looking for. My question is.. Is there any connections from White spar area to Humbolt? I have called the forest service and some local shops but no one seems to have any ideas. I am open to any route ideas anybody may have, i dont mind a little pavement. I am trying to get my hands on a Prescott natty forest map that will hopefully help out a little.

Thanks for your help! JF

I don't have any info to help you out,but the trip plan sounds amazing.I can't wait for the weather to turn so I can ride out of the valley headed north.

Best map resource for Prescott area. Between that and Google earth your covered.

Lots of trail options that are bike pack friendly ie. ride-able with a load.

For roads use Wolf Creek to Senator Hwy (FR52), then choose either Walker Rd/Black Canyon Hwy ( some pavement miles ), or the Goodwin/Mayer Rd depending on how you want to exit. There are so many variations on those themes you could go crazy.

Have fun with the research. Let us know what you pick.
