SOLD
Asking $899 for machine w/ case & deluxe kit, all the accessories below and a custom built table.

Hoping for local pickup, but hey, you never know, maybe one of you guys are local.  Also might be willing to deliver to Southern Oregon or Southern California depending on your location.

6 Month Old Sailrite LSZ-1 Portable Industrial Sewing Machine for Sale with less than 10 hours total on the machine.

My wife got this for me for Christmas 6 months ago when I started getting serious about sewing. It is an incredible machine but it's far beyond what I need in terms of it's capabilities. I built a custom table for it that will be included that has a perfect cutaway for the portable case so that the machine/case sit flush with the top of the table. Table is 2x4 feet and has been stained/polyurethaned.

Machine itself sells for $899.99 + ~$80 shipping from Sailrite. We purchased the machine, along with all the accessories directly through Matt Grant at Sailrite and will include the original invoice as well as the original box, paperwork, packaging, DVDs, etc. If you were to buy this package from them you're looking at nearly $1,300 and that doesn't include the cost of the custom table that's included.

The machine has the following upgrades:

$115 - Monster II Balance Wheel
$39.95 - Reverse Stop/Start Lock Knob Kit
$59 - 3/4" Swing Away Bias Binder Attachment
$33 - Left Zipper/Roping Foot

Watch the videos on YouTube. This machine will sew through almost anything. The go to choice in the boating community for sail repair. Can do auto upholstery and even leather. It's capable of sewing a VERY long stitch at 6mm (4.2 stitches per inch) as well as a wide ziz-zag of 5mm.

With the accessories and table, this is a great deal. I've got the LS-1 though I wish I had the zig zag feature. Do you have any more pics of your table? Maybe a photo of the underside?

That's a great deal on a great machine that I already have.
One of these days I'll get around to cutting a hole in my sewing table for the machine to sit inside.

Thanks for the comments guys!  Ya, it's for sure a great machine.  Seems like a lot of us here use them too, Paul, Jeremy, Jehsohn, Area54, etc.  all of whom produce top notch stuff.

I have someone driving over an hour to come see it tomorrow morning so I have a feeling it will be gone.

Paul, I'll try and snap some more photos of the table tomorrow before I sell it.  It turned out pretty well but was quite a bit of work to make.  Since the case has bumpers on all the corners those have to be routed out as well as space for the hinges.  After I cut it out and got the perfect fit I traced it onto another piece of 2'x4' 3/4" plywood as well as onto a piece of paper.    If I were to do it again I would just route out a rectangle with rounded corners (with a lip ~1/4" below the surface) for the machine to sit in.  I did the same thing for my Singer 201 and it worked out very well.

The seller picked it up Saturday and seemed pretty happy with the whole setup.  Sent me an email this morning saying that he and his wife built a shop apron out of denim and was really happy with how it sewed.

For the sailrite table above I simply outlined the case and used a jigsaw and router to cut out the whole in the table top.  Then I measured the height of the machine bed from the ground which was ~3.5".  Then I subtracted the thickness of the table top, 3/4" from 3.5" and ripped two 2x4's 2.75" in height.  Then I screwed and glued those underneath the table on the front and back and the screwed/glued on a secondary base to hold the machine up underneath.

It's much less labor intensive to just do a standard cutout though like the one shown above holding my Singer.  Here's another shot of that table before finishing and before the machine was installed so you can see how it's done.

Also, if you guys have a LSZ-1, I highly recommend modifying the center presser foot like the photo below.  I ground down the front of the foot so that there was minimal material there but it still sloped up with the same profile as the unmodified foot.  Then I filed marks for the left, center, right position of the needle and filled it in with nail polish.  HUGE improvement in high precision sewing.  Really improved the visibility and gave reference markers to line seams up.
