Another grateful viewer of greenwater's excellent tutorial video (http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,1796.0.html).

I was new to sewing and his video helped me greatly. Looking forward to using this bag in the Nicolet Forest of Wisconsin in a few weeks!

Really nice job on your bag...going to be doing one myself.  I notice you doubled up using some red ripstop nylon...just along the down and seat tube?  I assume that was to prevent things from wearing through?  Did you put anything in between the two layers?  (I've seen some folks add some foam).

Yup - I sewed a layer of batting in between the xpac and the red ripstop. Just a little bit of padding to keep things (tools) from banging around in the bag against the bike's tubes. Works great.
