Not sure what to call this thing.
Its intended purpose is to add a bit more cpacity to my existing pack and is designed around a 5 liter dry bag.
I would probably put some lighter stuff in it, like clothing or something, in order make room in the pack for a few more heavier things.

Bungee webbing utilizes existing D rings on the bottom and loops around the pack side compression straps.
Pocket thingy sewn out of old duffel bag parts with the addition of three SS banner grommets from work.
Made a velcro topped pocket and successfully pulled off my first attempt at sewing in a liner.
I won't mention the part where I had to dismantle everything and re do it Wink

Biner on the bottom to allow disconnection of outer thingy and access to lower pockets.
Doesn't look too out of place on the pack which is nice:)

Nice Job!
I did a backpack mod on an old Salomon bag here...
http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/diy-make-your-own-gear-(myog)/back-pack-mod/

I've got a Talon 11 and wish it had the big elastic stuff pocket of my Talon 22. A mod I've been thinking about since before I even bought the pack. Your mod hits a nice middle ground. Great Job!

I have a rather burly version on my CamelBack pack. It's supposed to be a helmet sleeve but I have used it for a great number of things. From carrying drills and shovels into the bush for trail building to transporting toilet paper from the car to the house Smiley As far as the Osprey pack goes, being able to roll up a jacket and stuff it in there on a hike or a dry bag when bikepacking is good enough Smiley

Looks good and if it works as expected, even better. Thanks for sharing.
