Hey guys,
I'm making my first over quilt, and am practicing sewing on the materials. I've read up a lot on thread tensioning, and it seems right, however, I'm getting some bunching in the fabric. I lowered the tension on both the upper and lower threads, and it's better, but still getting some. The upper tension dial is now on 3 and the bobbin has been adjusted accordingly. Does this amount of bunching look normal? If not, what can I do to fix it?
Thanks!
From the work I've done making both synthetic and down quilts that looks about right. Those SUL materials are challenging to sew and tensioning can be a bit of a pain. Looks fine.
I would pull the material tight to help reduce bunching. A little crude but it worked for the projects I've done.
Use black thread to help hide any mistakes and you'll be stoked once you're in the field.
