Awesome work! Very nice clean look on the bike as well. The detail shots show some fine craftsmanship.

Thanks for the pattern Jerry! Have you gotten to do an overnighter with your setup yet? I'm curious how the seat bag behaves, as that is on my short list of new gear (and I currently don't have the $120-$150 for a commercial version).

No overnights, but trail testing shows it's a go. It cinches down nice and tight and stays put. Nice thing is, you can use it with various sizes of dry bag to suite the particular need.

Thanks for the update Jerry. Your bags are very well done-both in design and finishing. I hope you get a chance to use them to their full potential soon!

Hi Jerry, your bags look awesome and I would like to try and make some of my own. I appreciate this topic is slightly old, but did you have any of the pattern drawings that you could post as they would really help a sewing beginner to get started.
Thanks

flanagaj - The only pattern I have is for the seat bag harness that I already posted. There are some other threads and videos with instructions for making your frame bag. My pattern for that likely wouldn't fit your frame anyway. The handlebar harness is pretty straight forward. Just use a piece of cardboard to make a pattern to fit your handlebars.

Jerry, do you sell the seat bag harness and sling? Sorry, I am only making gear for myself. Not enough time to make a business out of it.

Thanks for all the info you posted here Jerry, it was super helpful. I basically copied all your bags and they had their first test this weekend. Only changes were not bothering with the special mounting on the frame bag and increasing the size of the seat bag holster to fit a 25L dry bag. The biggest issue I had was with the seat bag, it just had zero lateral/side-to-side stability for me because it would suck up tight to the seat rails. I had a solution using the tie offs on the back of my brooks but it started ripping a seam 1 mile into the trail on my first ride so I ended up using a tube around the bag itself and then around the back of the seat rails. This seemed to work great and provide all the support needed. It worked so well I'm probably just going to replace it with a loose strap and call it good enough.

Hi Jerry,
I've spent many hours online looking at DIY seat bags, and yours takes the cake. You've got a really nice looking setup! I've tried recreating it, and my frame bag and handlebar bag are great, but my seat bag is pretty sloppy. Unfortunately, it looks like the plans you posted way back when (2011) are no longer available in this thread. Is there any way to post them again?
Cheers!

Just found this site. Jerry, your frame bag is exactly what I hope to make! I'm glad to see that someone else has already done this and that it works. Thanks!

Here's some additional photos and the pattern I used to make it. The lines on the pattern are 1" spacing. The pattern DOES NOT include the hem material. I was just making it up as I went along.
The black parts are double layer with a thin plastic sheet in between for stiffness.
I hope that's helpful. If you have any questions, just ask.
Hi Jerry, I was wondering if the pattern you included has seam allowance included, and if so what it is?
