lightweight sleeping bag
«

My wife, a seamstress, and I made a gear mod that I have been mulling over for a while:
http://ashevillejanes.blogspot.com/2012/03/gear-modification.html
Now, I am looking at the possibility of improving and can't find a sleeping bag pattern anywhere, does anyone have any leads?
Thanks

Backpackinglight has an article with the information you need-
http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/MYOG_down_quilt_bag.html
-but you need to become a member to access it.
There are instructions at Thruhiker.com on how to make a quilt which might be useful.

back in 04 I made the Ray Jardine synthetic quilt kit, and in 06 made the thru-hiker.com down quilt. pattern is really basic. the hard part is pushing that much fabric around and getting the down in right.
Now I primarily use a MHW Phantom 32 that cost me about the same as the down quilt kit, and weights less. (I made the quilt really warm)

That's an interesting post from jeremy11 for a couple reasons...to me, anyway. I grew up in a hippy-mountain-backpacking family in the 70s. My mom made a lot of our gear and I made some of the Jardine items when I got older. They all sucked. Sorry, mom.
I too use the Phantom 32 and that sucker rules. It's as light as a kitty whisper and full featured to boot.
