Hi everyone, I really appreciate this forum and have gotten some great ideas from you guys. Thought I would share my DIY kit. I've been experimenting for a while with different setups and this system seems to be the best and is super stable. Most of the bags are basically copies of different manufacturers in the bikepacking industry right now. Materials are pretty basic, mostly 500d and 1000d cordura, #10 ykk zips, closed cell foam at all frame interfaces, and double sided velcro with soft side down to protect the paint. Handlebar bag is just a regular waterproof drybag. The rack I manufactured from a piece of stainless steel tubing, which solves the issue of seat bag sway. Maybe not as strong as 4130 chromoly, but easier to work with and no need for paint. Also allows super easy removal of the seat bag, just loosen the strap and pull the bag out. Let me know what you guys think.

How did you attach the handlebar bag?

The handlebar bag is mounted to a harness, which is made out of a piece of hypalon fabric, which attaches to the handlebar and head tube, and is offset from the handlebar by a couple pieces of foam. The handlebar pocket then wraps around everything (including the handlebar) and cinches down. Its like a combination of the Porcelain Rocket MCA and the Bedrock Entrada.

Nice! Could you work me through the process of forming the tubing? 1. Propane torch to heat the tubing so that you can bend it around a form of some kind. 2. Heat the ends and flatten them in a vise??? After writing this, I'm going to google this subject.

I packed the tube with sand (to prevent crimping) and then bent the tubing around a large pipe. Then flushed the sand out, pinched the ends in a vice and drilled a hole in each.
