Has anyone been able to order fabric direct from Dimension_Polyant lately?? I have tried to get info but was told that Rockywoods stocks VX-21 but not any of the other fabrics. I read that they sell seconds off for a discounted price but, I'm not having any luck.

You can order directly from DP. They usually have vx-21 instock but in limited colors. There is a $20 cutting fee and they are raising their prices this month so Rockywoods is probable a better choice for small orders.
The Rockywoods salespeople know they carry X-Pac but aren't sure of the weight. It might be vx-07, 21, or 42 depending upon the color. You'll probably need to order samples of each color to find out which is vx-21.

Agreed. I usually order from DP directly. The last order was from RockyWoods because of DP's limited stock on hand. When it arrived from RW, it was VX07.

Well I've been trying to order directly but they have told me that I should order from Rockywoods and that they have VX 21 in stock. So I don't know what the deal is at DP.

hate to say it but they probably don't want to be a DIY source, the majority of fabric manufactures don't sell cut yardage to non-mfg's With that said if anyone wants some vx 21 red (1st) let me know, I'd sell some.

Just browsing Rockywoods during lunch and it looks like they have black and red vx21 in stock. Kinda sounds like the OP is looking for other stuff, but thought some may be interested.

Dimension Polyant stopped selling to small fabricators unfortunately. I think I got one of the last small orders in on the 16th of Jan.
The minimum order is now 50yds per fabric type. Rockywoods stocks vx21 but is gouging quite a bit compared to ordering directly from Dimension. With enough interest, I could possibly be into splitting an order between a few people to hit the minimum, I could take on 10-20 yds at a time.

Count me in! I'm good for at least 10 yards maybe more. It would be nice to try some VX07 instead of just the VX21. Let me know what you can put together. IT's weird though. They never told me that they weren't selling small quantities to people. They just kept on telling me that Rockywoods is carrying it. Weird eh?

Yea, I ordered just last week in a small quantity, and the person I normally work with didn't mention this at all (apparently effective Feb 1).
I would also get some VX07, 10-20 yds, depending on others. I'm happy to broker the deal, i'm near them and usually get orders delivered the next day with standard shipping.
So if others are interested in VX07, let me know.

Hey mgindle,
I was also wondering if you have any tips for the seatbag construction. I'm not even sure where to start so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks J

I would suggest building many cardboard models to get your geometry right. That is by far the most difficult part of it all. I ended up putting together at least 6 prototypes of my current setup before I landed on something I'm very happy with. Working in some medium that is easy to iterate through (cardboard) is key. Also, plan out all your details and connections before starting cutting and sewing. Otherwise its easy to sew yourself into a corner where you either end up pulling stitches or adding un-nessary seams etc.
Good luck

Anyone know of Euro sources for same other than Extremfabric? They usually have DP fabric but it's pretty expensive. Unfortunately, I think that they're the only source for VX-21 or 42.
Thanks..

Have you tried ordering from their German office? They might sell direct and might not have the 50 yard minimum. DIMENSION-POLYANT GmbH Speefeld 7 47906 Kempen Phone: +49 (2152) 891 0 Fax: +49 (2152) 891 149 E-Mail: info@dimension-polyant.comInternet: www.dimension-polyant.com
