After spending a few days packing and unpacking on the Oregon Outback, I quickly uncovered a need-- a need for a better, more tidy way of attaching bulky gear to the seat bag and out of the way of the rider- thus the pack girdle (or a more clever name that you all might suggest please!). This wraps around my Revelate Designs Terrapin seat bag. I'm working on version 2 as we speak, but this first generation works awesome.
Works great for storing camp shoes, camp seat, sleep pad, extra water bottles, etc. The fact that it is fully adjustable allows different set ups. Here's some pics.

The pack girdle attaches to the seat via webbing and buckles (ideal with Brooks saddle). it also attaches with velcro to the Terrapin bag and it is also secured by little strap and buckle around the seat post.

The body is x-pac and the stretch material is a Lycra mesh. All materials purchased from quest outfitters.

Can you estimate the total weight you are carrying in the bag and the total weight you are carrying in the girdle?
Kudos on the idea and build quality. This looks to be a great addition to a seat bag.

Good question on the weight of the terrapin bag fully stuffed, but I presume it weighs about 3 lbs and the pack girdle loaded will weigh about 4 to 5 pounds if carrying 50 to 60 oz of water in addition to camp shoes, camp chair, etc. Water would be the heaviest item, but if not carrying water, then the pack girdle will weigh about 1.5 to 2 lbs loaded.

My seatpack tends to sway when I am standing up pedaling. Does this extra weight\size increase swaying?

Not too bad since I have the strap which wraps around and connects to the back of my Brooks Saddle. This was my anti-sway/stablizing solution. You could probably use the same idea for just the seat bag.

It's about 11" x18" per side.
Here are some pics of version 2, no more laces and includes outside mesh pockets for inner tubes, wet clothes, etc. Version 3 will be smaller, probably 11 x 13 inches.
