I was thinking of making some bar mitts and was wondering if anyone has successfully pulled this off?
I'm looking for some inspiration from you all.

I'm thinking to make some too.  Saw a clever post somewhere about making them from an old coat.
Looking through my closet now but thinking seriously about a nice heavy softshell I saw at Costco for $29.
Would make barmits and lots of material and bits (zippers etc) for other projects.

This might be a sickness......

Here are a pair I made for my Fargo. Sorry; I don't have any pics with them on my bike. I can ride the hoods or the drops with these, but that did require lots of fabric (wind resistance?). Tan outer is 500D Cordura, white is PU coated (oxford?). Inside in the same shape as the tan is a single medium weight fleece layer. I start cinching up the white arm gaiters when the temp is solidly below 0 or exceptionally windy, but usually they are inside the mitt and function as a bit of a stiffener and as a slick liner that makes removing and inserting my hand easy. No other stiffener used. I usually ride with lightweight fleece gloves or uninsulated full finger gloves. Better for moisture management.
