The local Walmarts started carrying fabric again. Some have a coated, cordura like fabric for $5 a yard.

I didn't do the work myself but a friend did. Anyway I would like to try and make some custom bikepacking bags, what kind of sewing maschine do you use?

I have had better luck with older used machines. You will not need 64 different stitches. Just a straight stitch. The older machines seem to sew through a thicker pile of fabric.

What machine?
I use my grandmother's 1950s Singer Featherweight.
It turns out that this machine has a cult following. They are available used (do a Google search), but are not necesarily inexpensive.
Stictches forward and reverse!
