I am seriously looking at the Tour Divide in 2014. But I live in the Upper Midwest with not a lot of hills to train on. Any info on training info to get ready for Mt Riding.

Decided to go in a different direction with my set up. Looking at doing the tour divide in 2014, and wondering if there is any advantage between the two? Only thing I could think of if starting in AW you could deal with the New Mexico heat while still fresh.

I got some X-Pac and been thinking at trying my hand at making my own frame bag. I never seen one in person, was wondering who wide they are? Worrying about legs rubbing again.

I seen the SOL Emergency Bivy at a local sport store. I was wondering if any one has any experience with them? Its cheap and light, but was wondering if they would last a 2 week bike trip or is it a one and done item.

I'm not a fan of suspension forks, I'm a old school ridge rider. I have the salsa Fargo V2 forks on my rockhopper, they have the spots for bottle holders or the salsa anything cages.

I did a 8 day ride using a Camelbak Raza, couldn't get real comfortable with it. Are there any out there more geared to bikepacking? thanks Tony

Making a goal of doing the Tour Divide in 2 years, my problem is living in the heartland (Eastern South Dakota) flat. Wondering about training don't a have a lot hills in my area to work with. the Black Hills are about 400 miles away. Any input would be great.

Was looking at pics of Matthew Lee and Mike Dion bikes, and notice in a few pictures they had some really thick grips. What brand are they or are they something they made?
