Is the Four Peaks option a go for this year?
Don't see it in Trackleaders

Yes.  It'll be there before anyone ventures off onto it.... if anyone actually does!  I forgot that we should have collected that intention from folks in the registration.  We'll just have to see who goes for it.

Registration is back open for ITTs on different days ONLY.

That's it folks, we are at the limit.  I've disabled registration for tracking.  Still happy to track people doing ITTs on different days.  Just drop me an email if that is your plan.

Thanks!

Scott, Will you be adding the 4Peaks Option to Trackleaders?  Thanks, Tom

Yes, definitely.

I am signed up for the 750. Are the snow detours from previous years in play? Reason I ask is that I am leaving Denmark on april 10th and won't have access to a computer from that point. If they turn out to be an option I can upload the gpx files before I leave.

You can download the full set of all possible detours now, if you want.  Then only use the ones determined to be in play.

I believe 2010 had all possible detours on it, but would need to double check that.  Maybe the full set file should always be available as a link, just in case.

I have a confirmation from track leaders but still cant see my name on the list?  Anyone else having the same issue?  I will re-register just in case.

No, don't register again.  I'll restore your entry right now.  You should show soon.  Looks like you are the only one that for some reason didn't make it over.  Sorry about that but thanks for checking.

Tracker is online now if people want to see who is signed up and/or confirm they are on the list.

http://trackleaders.com/aztr19

70 showing, but 4 ITTs, so there are 8 spots left.

You should get a confirmation email from Track leaders right away if your registration went through.

Yep, check spam/bulk if you haven't rec'd it.

Signups are in the mid to high 60's.  Tell your friends time is running short....

Who is the other women doing early ITT - is she on the forum?  I'd like to connect up perhaps we can share transportation if she is starting on same date as me?

What day are you starting?  It's Lael and she is thinking around the 25th of March, so early next week.  I can put you in touch if you think timing could be right.

Yikes, 60 signups already as of 9am on the 19th.  Two are early ITTs, so that means 58 of 74 spots are taken.

The tracking map will come live within the next few days.  Sounds like we'll have an early ITT of the 300 by a certain very strong woman.

Going to be a good year on the trail.  Hope the snow keeps melting for 750ers.  Flagstaff area is looking snowy/soupy right now!

Thanks for posting this here.

I made a quick announcement on my blog (http://topofusion.com/diary/2019/01/08/arizona-trail-race-2019-and-beyond/), but:

I'm passing the AZTR torch over to John Schilling.

Everything is good hands with him.  Trackleaders will be on board, too.

I hope to sit down and write some thoughts on the history of the race and what it's meant to us all, hopefully before start.  Crazy to think but it's only slightly over 3 months away!

I finally found World imagery on the Trackleaders page. This is great. Many thanks for time, effort, and expense on keeping this site free for the spot watcher/voyeur. After years of using the site I've finally backed up my gratitude with a gratuity.

Thanks for the support Dave.

Glad the Imagery Layer is stacking up.  I plan to keep looking for more options.

I hear you on Streetview -- definitely a nice touch for dot stalking and figuring out why people are stopped or where they are.  It's a bummer to lose.  But if I can open a (free-to-us) google map that lets you then go to streetview that could be a good workaround.

I changed the default to an ESRI 'topo' map -- do you guys think it is any more detailed?  The "Imagery" layer is pretty darn close to google's.

Is it possible to have a kml output function or give x,y or lat long so we can investigate google maps/earth and street view?

KML output is a little messier, but I was thinking about a "view in google maps" function that would open a direct link on google.com with a single marker on it, or maybe multiple markers.  a live link for google earth is another idea.

Not really liking the mapping option on Trackleaders either. Is this the new standard map or a “tiered” Trackleaders package?

I still need to hunt out some other map options, but we are using open street map based maps going forward for all trackers.

2 years ago the google map API was free.
1 year ago it was a reasonable cost.  Happy to pay.
2 months ago they started charging 20x more.  The bill for TCR, just for map loads, was $6000.  We may have actually lost money on that one, despite all the time put in.  No tracking company can afford to use google any more.

The only tangible difference is the map quality, and the loss of streetview.

It's part bad GPS line and part people intentionally detouring.  White dots went live today per Steve Watson's direction.  The rest are officially racing.

Don't know of where more discussion is happening.

I just added the 2018 link and a new GPX file as well.  Corrie, I'll send you an email shortly about the 2017 reg.

Thx.

What happened to Liz! So close to pulling off the win!

Word is her hub blew up -- not rollable -- walked 13 miles but eventually gave in and called for a ride.  Such bad luck for so close to the finish!
