Question, Is it cool to text someone that they've missed a turn & need to go back?

I carry the rainfly from a cheap 2 man tent. A SOL emergence bivy is small light cheap and expands the temp range plus adding another water barrier.

If it was me I'd try to find a lightly use Ebay bike with a seller willing to ship to Argentinia. I'd also thing about going with a rigid fork, much less maintenance & cost.

I run em on my SSP, the down side is a 50% chance of putting it on wrong every time. Long tooth rings are all you really need if gears aren't involved.

Oh Man Tanner. That kind of puts our goals in perspective. I once told a reporter 'You can't win the race if you finish in the ER' so I'm sure the morgue wouldn't work either. Lets take Tanners hard earned lesson to heart & in the words of sarge on Hill St Blues 'let's be careful out there'.

I showed up at the start of the Coco 250 w/ 2 left shoes. 1st shop open in Flagstaff that morning was Bike Revolution (Super Great Shop) they had the $130 http://www.mavic.us/footwear-mtb-rush-shoe in my size (42). After lots of hike a Bike & riding my feet never had a problem. The ratchet is a little tricky to loosen, other than that this shoe is easily worth twice the price.
I have narrow feet but I use wool simi-thick sock w/ these.

Think I would suggest sunrise ... you have the possibility of getting to Silver City while some things are still open

Seems like a solid plan Mike. I know Id like a bed on the 1st night if possible.

Phone was reunited & Rich found a room, now that's trail karma at work.
Rest Hard RIch, Come on John & Cassi. Recover with the same mental toughness you use to ride Tanner!

Has anyone heard from or seen a gal named Colleen (I think)? She started about 30 minutes before the Grand Depart and isn't tracking. She was wearing cool socks...that's all I remember from watching her ride off. Smiley

Last I saw her was two days ago 1/2 way up Lemon. From the tracking I'm assuming Colleen & Cassi are name & nickname. They were cool socks & a good move if you already have enough 'AZ PinStriping'.

One more Noob question. Are helmets mandatory? I understand advised & recommended, but do I have to?

On the subject of water, anybody have a feel for how surface water sources are looking?  For example: Molino (creek?), Ripsey Wash, Pine Springs, Russel Tank.  From what I can tell from afar it has been a fairly wet winter, but I realize that sometimes doesn't last long.

I'm planing on added these spots as wayptns on the Garmin, plus carrying this PDF on paper:  http://www.fredgaudetphotography.com/aztrail/watercurrent.pdf

Anybody know of a shuttle available for April 2nd to Parker Lake?

If you can get to Sierra Vista try Sun n' Spoke. They might still have room. Email is snsbike@hotmail.com or mrk.lapaglia@gmail.com
Talk or type to Mark

What's the advisability of leaving a motorcycle at the Picketpost trailhead for the duration? The scooter is my bike hauling rig:  https://instagram.com/p/z-mntQkJYV/
Plan is to ride to Sierra Vista to Sun n' Spoke shuttle or  to take the shuttle from Superior.
