It just dawned on me. Heather must not have her tracker on. Duh!! I hope that is the case and she isn't still at Swan Lake. If I was doing this race, I for sure would be chillin by Swan Lake with a good book. LOL

Sweet..after Faeth's 5-6 hr set back he caught Heather Dawe (the other ss) this morning. I wonder if she slept in. Now she is off the path..getting breakfast? She has been charging! I hope she gets back on track soon. Charge Petey!! My day is just as busy..ha. Taking kids to tennis camp 830,930, 11a..then off to soccer this evening. Whew! I'm pulling 16 hr days solo. I'm just sayin..LOL Shout out to all the people who are holding the fort down while our loved ones are doing this race. God speed!

Tour Divide 2010 Sendoff

Hello,
Just wanted to answer a question early on. Someone wanted to know who the SS'ers are. My husband is one of them:) His name is Pete Faeth. He had a pretty nasty mechanical early on ten miles outside of Elkford. His chain ring broke in half, and he had to push his bike 20 miles into Sparwood. I wrote all the info on another forum for SS'ers for the tour divide race on this site. He is in Whitefish. I hope I hear from him soon! Go Pete!!

 This is an update from Pete Faeth when he was in Sparwood, Ca. for those who wanted more info on Pete's mechanical.
Hey all, We left Banff yesterday at 9am sharp.  There were somewhere around 48 of us.  The weather held out and actually wasn't even drizzling!  Anyway, a group of us made it about 110 miles and I decided to go for 30 miles to the next town of Sparwood, Canada.  Well, my bike broke 10 miles into it and I had to push, scooter, and coast for over 20 miles to the hotel I was trying to get to.  That portion was only supposed to take about 2 hours, and turned into and almost four hour ordeal.  Not fun.  Plus it was dark.  Plus I was alone.  Plus it is big grizzly bear territory.  I made it though and shacked up with 6 other dudes thankfully.  I am now waiting for the part to get here.  My chain ring broke in half.  I think two of the bolts backed out and I just torqued it to fatigue.  It's an easy to get part, but the bike shop that is 20 miles away didn't open until 10am because it is Saturday.  I also had to figure out a way to get it here, and the taxi company wanted to charge me a fortune.  I would have given it, but the guy at the awesome bike shop called a friend and it should be here in a few minutes.  Well, gotta go, I feel great and will catch the rest tonight.  Take care and keep following!

Thanks Dogger! So far so good with Murieta Cable internet! Whew! I was just thanking the Lord this am for my cable interenet.LOL I am up and online tracking my man. I haven't heard from him. I was hoping he would call in Eureka. I am anxious to see how his day went. I am so proud of him after his several hour set back for making up some time. My boy Parker is keeping himself quite busy between rising early to watch the World Cup and checking on his ole man. Off to church..I'll pray for all these racers. I feel like I know them all.Ha! I'm here worried like I'm their mamma. ha Have a great Sunday! My son is 9 yrs old..he has been mtb racing at Prarie City on Wed nights. He got first place the first week, and 2nd pl last week. He loves it like Daddy. He is also a soccer player like his Dad. Pete has a mini me..fo sho!

 So I looked again, I there is a purple or blue over the red line, but then the blue line cuts across. Is that just to connect the pings like you mentioned? Can you explain how the last 10 points work and the times?

Yea..he mentioned something about the bolts. He wasn't happy watching all the guys take off this morning while he waited until the bike shop opened. He seems to be catching up with the rest of them. Hi! My husband is a single speeder and a first timer. I posted on another post that his chain wheel broke in half after Elkford and he walk/cruised his bike to Sparwood. He got it fixed at 10 when the bike shop opened. Whew!

So, The bike shop didn't open until 10am. Sounds like they helped a brother and got him the part he needed and is up and running. Just wanted to say hi and I love reading all the post. I am a homemaker addicted to watching and tracking this race. So much fun! Thanks for all your expert input. At home praying for all the racers and cheering for my man!!
