Why are the 25 day flag and the 30 day flag only 25 miles apart?
Because the flags are actually riders from previous years that finished in that time. They will vary but it gives an average "where one should be" to finish in that time.

Can we keep the discussion about the race and not bringing up rules/support? Don't want this thread to turn into a big debate that happened last year.

I'm thinking JP and Neil might get some company later today? Alex and Seb are riding strong. What a great year!

Does the Spot rental include the tracking or do we pay the extra for that? I used my own in 2013 but might rent this year.

no ghost riders to show the records this year? Maybe because of the re-routes?

About 13 of the 70'ish riders made Silverton by 8pm if you watch the replay here:
http://trackleaders.com/ctr13
If your not light and fast plan on packing for BV or hitting Silverton on day 2 prior to heading up Stony. I decided to camp about 12 miles short of Silverton and packed for BV but ended up hitting the gas station in Silverton the next morning. I'm planning on packing for BV again just in case.

Also,
can anyone who is familliar with etrex 30 tell me the best way on the course to reset my tracks every day so there will be a gpx file for each day? is it even possible? preferably without having to reload the aztr track.
thanks!

I believe the track is saved to the memory card once the GPS is powered down. So just turn it off each night and it should save the track as a file to the SD card. Here is a quote from a post I made in the CTR forum (hope it helps):
1. It records to Internal Memory when you have the Track Log On radio button selected under: Tracks > Track Log ON or OFF.
2. It will record to internal memory and to the SD when you have done step 1 above and also checked the "Log track to data card" under:  Tracks > Setup > Data Card Setup > Log Track to Data Card.
It will NOT record to SD without BOTH 1 and 2 above selected to save track.
Yes it saves both to internal memory and SD but you can clear the internal memory of the saved track easily when it starts getting full or just have the "Wrap when full" checked under: Tracks > Setup > Wrap when full.

This internal memory is additional storage to your uploaded tracks so if you have uploaded all available memory it saves some space for the tracks to be saved to internal memory. The tracks it saves to internal memory contain very basic information. The tracks saved to the SD contain the detailed information such as speed, alt. etc.

I'm guessing with all the new races popping up there wont be the 70ish riders this year. However, I hope to be there again this year!

Great job Dominic! You get points for being able to leave your hometown and rejoin the race.
Lets go Caminiti - final leg!
And our two Minnesota boys should be arriving at Apple's camp shortly. Keep it up!

So, I may be totally wrong here - but how do the records work when the course is completed in the other direction?

Regardless of Neil's finishing time, doesn't he create the new record for this exact course in the Denver to Durango direction? Or is it the same record times from this course being done in the opposite direction (2013)?
I think its a new record since this course has yet to be raced.

Karlos and friends might be avoiding the weather. Radar is showing some cells over that area.

More features are working on trackleaders now - elevation, race flow etc. Thanks guys!
Anyone hear from Beth? Hoping she's just having SPOT issues.

Neil's sleepless night has set him up so he doesn't need to worry about crossing passes with thunderstorms today. He's clearing Searle this morning!

Oh no! JH + MB just missed the turn on Goose Cr. Road. DL made that mistake earlier.
NB going to see the sunset from the top of Georgia Pass... Unbelievable!

Looks like JM and JG both took a wrong turn... Few others have missed turns. Lots of roads merging on that detour! AD just miss the turn after Stagestop?

Oh man just looked at the radar... News was saying flooding conditions with 1+ inches of rain in the burn area this afternoon. Could be a long detour if it gets muddy. Don't know whats worse - the heat or flooding rain.

Looks like the Breck Epic starts Sunday. Racers will be on the CT around Breckenridge Monday and Tuesday. Prob when most CT Racers get to this area. It looks like they will be traveling in the same direction on the trail. Just to let you know...
