Past starters, Can you assist me in your start location? It kinda sounds like there were a few different start locations depending on the year. I was either thinking Lunch Loops, or perhaps Westwater. Both have their pros and cons. I will be traveling counter clockwise if that makes a difference. Also, I'm aware that water will be sparse, I'm just wondering if folks know of any reliable water on the Paradox or Tab trails that I should know of.
Thanks, Neil

If you can post up a complete .gpx, that'd be swell. There could be one out there, but I haven't looked too hard. This has been on my radar for a few years. Have fun!
I am going to work on that tonight and have everyone look it over.

Hey guys, again this thread pops up, what are your thoughts on a fall Pedal?
Does anyone have the new GPX with updated re-routes.
Thanks, Neil

I used Sram Eagle this year for the 300 and ran a 30T ring up front. 32 would be fine, but its nice to have that little extra for climbing when you need. I never had the issue of spinning out. Even on the paved section between Loma alta and reddinngton.
I used a 28 with my 1x11 two years ago. It would be difficult for me to run something higher than a 30 tooth running Eagle, but the road sections after the first 300 miles would have me contemplating the 32tooth. Not sure what I would do if I raced in 2018.

There's a bit more to Hunter's story than that. There was some confusion and he may or may not have tried to start from the actual start of the AZT rather than the start of the 750...
Noticed this, was perplexed to say the least, but it appeared he figured it out. Bummer to hear about KB, and really all the scratches. Giddy up everyone!

Hey Mark, how do the La Sals look? I'm thinking of doing a trip in between storms this week, wondering if I can make it over to Moab on route, from the Utah/Colorado border.

Are those bathrooms open 24hrs?
I believe so, I was up there before everything was open back in 2014. I remember being absolutely freezing cold... it was a nice place to warm up.

Giddy up, I'm also in. Excited to see the country by way of bike. Billy and I will make call on snow when we are closer to the date, as of now, things are melting fast with record March temperatures. That being said, it's been a really big snow year so we need a lot of snow to melt. This is one of the main reasons we need to start out east.

Maxxis Ikon 2.35 front, 2.2 rear. I have been running this combo for 3 trips on the AZT, including my 750 run last year. My first year I did get a slashed sidewall, but the tire had maybe 20 miles on it. My suggestion is to wear in your tires before you start on the 7th. Speaking of AZT, I think I had a dream of doing the 300 backwards last night, It would be cool to make that dream a reality, would just need to miss the last weekend of work at the ski resort. Hope everyone is having a great week. Best, Neil
