It sounded like it was just a pedal bearing issue.  No drivetrain problems.

Craig's had a mechanical.  He is trying to get it resolved with some cheap parts from Wal-Mart and push to Silver City for proper parts.

11 miles isn't much of a gap, approx 1hr lead (?), but fun to see some separation regardless.

Looks like Craig is getting something at the Redbox???  No idea what that is but its on the Google.  Ollie's riding ahead and the gap is up to 16 miles.

Ollie took a 20 minute break for lunch in Grants.  Looks to me like he's gunning for it.

Looking carefully at the spot today it looks like Ollie has pulled out a 5 minute lead from Craig at the turn on to the San Mateo Rd (605).  Craig left the turn some time after 10:11am and Ollie was on his way a few minutes before at 10:06am.  Is this Ollie's big move to the finish? With around 300 miles left I'm sure he thinks he can pull straight to the end...

It'll be interesting to see if it sticks leaving Grants.

I wonder if Ollie, considering his experience and success in brevets, is considering a final push to the finish?

Only 3 more big climbs left for the leaders.  A break tomorrow?  A long ride through the night?  I'm pretty sure drinking large pints of beer everyday will help fuel Craig on to the finish.

official crossing 2:50 pm MST at ~1480.5 miles.  What happened to a nice long lunch break?  CJell is burning the candle and all the matches, fantaaastic, Ya!

Looks like the golden spike will indeed be north of Rawlins on one of the loneliest parts of the route. Guess we need to place or bets on the time now. I say 4:20pm.
