And don't forget that there is more singletrack: we skipped the Kettle Crest South, Barnaby Butte and Thirteen Mile trails due to time&food constraints!

Lee Blackwell joined me on this 4-day bikepacking trip along the Trans Canada (Kettle Valley) and Kettle Crest trails.

There is so much more riding to be done, there - can't wait to go back.

Yes, you'd just keep going up on NF-99 for another 1.3 miles to Windy Ridge instead of taking the Smith Creek trail. I did the Plains and Ape the day before, so I wanted to see something new. Now that I know both, I think that the Plains and Ape have better riding conditions and more spectacular views than Smith Creek.

I just did an overnighter in this beautiful area of Washington State:

How is this thing progressing? Did any of you ride it? I need to get some fantastic WA trail riding done once the snow finally melts up there.
Thanks,

Hi Everyone!

Great pictures, great stories. Lynda: I am sorry about your fall on Mingus. I know the section you are talking about and it was sketchy to say the least. As someone said earlier, I was ratcheting myself and my bike up that part (and other parts).

I was riding by myself most of the time as I am a late riser =) so I am just now catching up with where everyone was and what happened. Keep the stories rolling. Jeremy, you and your daughter are an awesome duo! I am super impressed.

A (very) verbose write-up of my experience is at

Cheers to you all!

Thanks krefs. Probably, I will see what I can find up at Mingus lake, and if its ugly, then Potato Patch isn't that far. (800 ft, 4.2 miles RT).

Regarding water on Mingus mountain. Is Mingus Lake good for filtering? Or is Potato Patch the nearest watering hole?
