What makes some assume they are riding along three abreast?
Neil's girlfriend had commented earlier that he and JP had been riding together. I assume she's had some contact and some insight that SPOT doesn't show. That was prior to Josh joining them. Who knows now?

I still say it's a race, so finish it like a race.
I tend to agree. But these guys have been slugging it out for 2500+ miles. Whatever they decide is ok by me. They've earned the right to do it however they'd like. Personally, I'd like to see them say to one another: at an agreed upon point in the course - it's every man for himself. May the strongest man win. Beers and high fives together at the finish. Regardless of how this plays out, what a show of physical and mental toughness from these guys.

Considering JayP is posting selfies on Facebook, I imagine he is also checking Trackleaders!
I would think it'd be hard to eff-around online too much when you have a dude right on your tail trying to hunt you down. Of course I'm not JP...

I'm glad that the riders are being responsible, and leaving good feelings behind them, unlike the Oregon Outback fiasco, where some jerks trashed campsites and a barn a kind man had opened up for them in the rain, and now the "organized" ride is no more. http://www.oregonbikepacking.com/the-death-of-the-oregon-outback/Wow! That's really sad to read. I'm seriously disappointed to hear of the demise of this event, an event that I was hoping to attend next year. But I'm even more disappointed to hear of the irresponsible, disrespectful behavior from a few self-centered morons.

I wish there was a Salsa dealer within a 2 hour drive so I could try sizes. I've been looking for a frame to build up but could go for the right full build. I'm 5'11 with pretty normal torso/legs. From what I've read and pics, it seems like a large would be best for touring/bikepacking. Not a fan of a huge amount of seatpost. I'm hoping to get over to Raleigh and ride a few in a couple weeks and see which size is best as we all know how hard it is to be sure until you ride one.
I'm not quite as tall as you, (5'10" w/31" inseam). I rode both a large and a medium when I purchased my Fargo. The large definitely had me too stretched out to be comfortable. Sitting on each would definitely be worth your while.
