29  Forums / Classifieds / Looking for touring gear and mtb parts on: June 27, 2013, 08:56:57 AM
Hello bikepacking.com folks, I am looking for touring gear and bike parts for touring. Sweet roll, seatpost bags, frame bags are all welcome.  Please send me your offer.

I am building up a 29er mountain bike, but so far, I only have handlebar, paddles, seat post and a front fat wheel with fork. I will need a rear 29 inch wheel, tire, 10 speed drivetrain, shifters, avid bb7 brakes and levers and cable and housing.

I live in Indiana, my zip code is 47408.

Thank you for your time.
30  Forums / Question and Answer / Fork choice choices, handle bar choices help on: June 13, 2013, 12:54:32 PM
I am building my Vassago Bandersnatch 2010. I got a choice of Salsa enabler (2.5 lb) to make it a fat front bike, or I can buy the stock Odis fork (2.3 lb). I am going to use this bike for Tour Divide. I am open to other options as well.

I am also seeking answers on whether I should use a horn-bar with aero bar (Triathlon set up) or use the Jones H-bar with aero bar set up.

Any suggestions on what kind of fork and bar I should choose, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much the reply. I apologize for being late, I didn't check this forum frequent enough. It would be great for us to connect. If you like, we can meet up  or talk about getting gear. I am, too, working on my gear and building up a bike. Will you be able to do a short camping trip (with or without a bike) this month?
