$9,450.54. Makes all the effort worthwhile ...
That's definitely a very significant amount, great job to all who have been involved! ![thumbsup](http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/thumbsup.gif)

Works fine now Chris, thanks.
One minor point: Your pull down note description on the "GD/ITT" field says: "Type GD if you intend to be at the Grand Depart on June 14". I believe it should read June 13th for Grand Depart.
Thanks again, John Fairbairn

Each of these amazing achievements are unique unto themselves, each race having their own unique set of variables and huge trials to overcome. I'm not sure I can say that any one is more of an achievement than the others, they are all amazing. If pressed I guess I'd have to say Michael Hall's TDR simply because it's the longest and because he truly brought it to a new level this year, but my opinion may be leaning this way only because I'm trying to get on the starting line for TDR this year and it's focal in my mind. The perseverance involved in any and all of these efforts is laudable, kudos to them all.

Thanks for the response re: dogs Michael, I, too, am enjoying reading your blog. ![thumbsup](http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/thumbsup.gif) In regards to SPOT trackers, I've seen reference in many threads that there are, or at least were, some available for use without having to buy our own. Obviously TD keeps growing and I was wondering if they are still available as loaners or whether it's necessary to buy our own at this point. If it is necessary to buy our own, which model is the accepted best or required model if any are? Thanks in advance.

Got it, thanks for the reply james-o, that's about my method of operation here in Colorado when it happens(minus the bear spray), I'll stick to that and hope for the best.

So.. after a couple days of on-and-off reading of the "TD Basics" thread(it's a long one and I'm taking it slowly so as to absorb the info). In regards to the "Tour Divide Dangers" I did find it a bit disconcerting to see that there have been dog maulings in New Mexico that ended in broken ribs, etc. In recent years has the dog situation changed at all? I'm not one bit afraid of bears, I've done plenty of backcountry travel through the Montana sections of the CDT on foot and know what to expect there from experience, but dogs do concern me. I've been chased by many country dogs here in the remotes of Colorado but not by 4 pit bulls bent on my destruction. I guess what I'm asking is are these dog issues freak incidents or the rule?

I owe you a beer james-o, great thread there that I hadn't found, valuable info.... thanks ![icon_biggrin](http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/icon_biggrin.gif) Winter has come to the rocky mountains so I'm starting to shift gears from my summer of long training rides on/near the divide to cross training, doing more strength/core training indoors and nordic skiing/backcountry telemark skiing to keep the legs/body/cardio strong. It's probably about time for me to buy an indoor cycle trainer so I can keep those cycling specific muscles moving forward through the winter as well. My biggest obstacle after riding almost 9000 miles this summer in training seems to be financial, hopefully I'll be able to get this all worked out and make it to the starting line. Like GregMay, I am also picking the brains of everyone in town that's done TD trying to get more info. Hope everyone's training and planning is going well, and hope to meet some of you in Banff(and to meet some of the northbounders on the trail). Cheers all.

Picked up the Fargo for a test ride last Thursday.... it never made it back to the shop... pretty much bought it after the first 30mins of the ride. 100% what I was looking for. Great on the long draggy rides and very capable on singletrack. Stunned. Now I just have to pay the folks in the shop ![Smiley](http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/icon_biggrin.gif) Big thanks to the gals and guy in http://www.keeppedalling.co.uk/ for trusting me to 'borrow' a brand new bike and let me ride it properly. Excellent!

Im thinking about running a fully rigid Niner One 9 RDO with SRAM X01 or XX1 setup on next years tour divide. Anyone have success with a 1x setup last year? Wish you did something differently?
TD was won on a fully rigid 1x XTR setup last year. Booked myself into the Banff Y-Mountain Lodge yesterday, getting psyched!

Out test riding what'll hopefully be my new ride tomorrow, Fargo!
How'd it go on the Fargo? Did you end up getting it? ![Smiley](http://www.bikepacking.net/forum/Smileys/Lots_O_Smileys/icon_biggrin.gif)

Glad to see this thread, I'm in for 2014 SOBO, I've been training for a year trying to get in the kind of shape it's going to take to finish, hopefully putting in enough. Got the bike I'll be riding a month ago and am working on getting it outfitted for bikepacking. I'd encourage anyone going to hop in to the Strava Tour Divide Endurance Training club. There has been `nothing` else on my mind for the last year and a half, I can't wait for June.
