Still smiling!
Ian

That is the perfect ending to your endless difficulties...I am glad you are still smiling through it all.

It looks like Tim is coming close to finishing the AZT 300...he is on the steep section of Martinez/Telegraph Canyon.

Keep plugging away!

Well done Lee. I look forward to some pictures and stories from your epic trip!

Here is my recap from Friday and Saturday. There are two posts, one is a ride recap, and the other is a WTF happened? This is definitely on the hit list for next year.

Enjoyed the write-up, especially the snow pictures at the beginning.

Yes, someone needs to man up and give W100 a go.  Holy hike-a-bike at the start though.

I am free all this summer. What says ye, Dr. Morris?

Incredible ride, Jefe. I look forward to your poetic report.

Looks like they are off and riding!

It's going to be well all day today. They should be arriving at Patagonia around noonish and Vail around 6am tomorrow (the leaders). Here is the current weather forecast:

Precipitation should gradually end from west to east across Santa Cruz and southeast Pima counties through early afternoon. The heaviest precipitation will fall east of a line from Vail to Patagonia where another tenth to a quarter inch of precipitation is possible before noon. Snow levels will hover around 5000 feet through mid morning rise slightly before lunch time. Snow accumulations between 5000 and 6000 feet should generally be limited to non paved surfaces. In the Tucson Metro area...light rain should exit the southern and eastern sections of the city by 10 am.

Some good snow fell on Lemmon this morning, prolly 1-2 inches down to 6000 feet.  Good luck everyone!

casner mountain loop - I do not see a .gpx on it. I am on the AES Files page..

Coconino via Casner is the name of the file.

Check the Coconino Loop Race...
Ah, not so...

Mormon Mtn AZT has deep snow on it per Randy Mason's report this weekend.  Easy to detour around it though.  Probably only miss 6 or 7 miles of trail.  I think the stuff on Anderson Mesa should be OK.  Dirt roads near Mormon might be muddy as well, hard to say though.

Wow! How did I overlook that one in the AZT 300 thread? Sorry for the bad beta.

I'm starting the Coco 250 in 6 days, so you'll get some first hand mud feedback a few days later.
My only worry is the dirt roads being too muddy. The trails have rocks to ride over.

Too muddy? You will be fine until you get to Bill Williams.

Let me know your finish time so I can add it to the ITT results.

Thanks for the reply - I am headed to Flag on the 22nd and was looking for a overnighter loop and thought the coco rout to Sedona and back might be an option.  Thoughts for any other routes in the area?

Did you check out the Casner Dirty Century ride? Drop down to Casner, ride through Sedona and back up to Flagstaff. About 110 miles. I need to finalize the GPX file, but there is a version up on the Google Group.

I think you need to up the "vertical exaggeration" 3D option to get a more accurate picture. It does not look steep enough.

Chad are you doing GL again?  I figured being the first to SS the beast would be plenty for you but what do I know.  And thus begins the love/hate with the GL  BangHead

Time will tell. Smiley I will be up for the Dixie though!

I'm more than a little stoked on this one!

As am I, great timing to announce it. I needed some motivation for this coming week, I lost sight of a common goal this time of year....enjoy the outdoors.

Also, this is a good cool down for the Grand Loop and warm-up for the CTR.

Nod your head to this!   headbang

I don't even know what that really means...I am going to upload Beautiful Disaster and code name that my race for the 311.

DaveH-Can you describe WTH is happening at Mile ~200 on your profile? That scares me a little.

With the AZT, TU, GLR, CTR, Divide, and GET...
What is the Divide?

I'm going to start loading my mp3 player with 311 tunes right now.  Music, Grassroots, 311, Transistor...

A think you mean Bluegrass...you know, to go with that Dixie theme. I will be wearing my Confederate Primal Jersey for this one!

I am in.  thumbsup Seems like a perfect route made for those that have the summers off.

Anyway we can use the Alpacka for this one? We need to get a race with a mandatory Alpacka section.
