Is Eric Foster really going backwards? I see that he dropped his phone but that's crazy! Kid just can't catch a break on this thing.
I think he is going backwards just to get in Max's head!

The triple crown race is fun to watch. Forest is in 10th place, Eric in 19th place and Max is in 20th place. Forest is a big guy. He must really haul on the flats!

JP ghost is now where CS was 4 hours and 25 minutes ago.
And the only thing scarier than having JP chasing you is having his ghost chasing you!

I think that they should throw out the results this year. Not enough rain and snow to justify a true Tour Divide! I know some riders from last year and their pace is way ahead of where they were last year. I guess we need to drag out the snow machines!

Since I turned 60 I am more interested in the "Elders" group
Following is the list I came up with. Anyone know of any others?
NAME Age O'Brien, J.W. 60 McCready, Donald61 Kent Davidson 62 Carter, Glen M 62 Hodges, James 62 Nahmias, Yair 63 Russell, Hal M 64 Peschka, Bill 64 Ashton, Rick 66 Hipskind, Larry 72
I believe that James Hodges is the oldest race finisher ever at 61. He is riding again this year for the third time I believe. His time last year was 28:01:44

Best of luck to all the contenders of the Tour Divide this year. You have my respect and complete jealousy. Make this a transformative adventure, and remember to reflect back on how you have changed after the ride is over.
Will be thinking of you, while on my own wanderings in the mountains this week.
And don't do anything I wouldn't do...
Well that leaves it pretty wide open!

I hope I didn't do anything to screw up Billy's run. With the spot trackers you get the good and the bad. You keep friends and family informed of where you are. It is much more fun than watching the Tour de France and in my opinion any other spectator sport. The problem is that we live in an information age and the spot tracker is a component of that. Then you got cell phones, smart phones and the internet. How do you control it? And since all these races are "non events" that is another can of worms. Anyone who has done the race and has gone off course or taken a wrong turn or missed a turn knows what a PIA it is to go redo something. I am sure I added a half day to my ride last year just from doing these very things. One of my fellow racers pointed out a turn I missed and my first thought was "screw that" but upon thinking about it I went and re rode it. When you are hot or cold and hungry and tired the last thing you want to do is to go backwards! Then we get into trail magic! Ha ha!

I just got off the phone with Billy. He realized that he missed the turn and went back and re rode it. He is also in contact with Matt Lee. I saw his facebook videos this AM. Between the mud and wind it has been a tough couple of days for him!

If no one can get you some, I can mail a few from Southern CA to an address in Banff (Y?). I got black and blue ones. I don't know about gray though. This is for a long travel (LT) model.
