I received my bags from Greg (12Wheels) and put them on the bike, They look great and the bags seem to be well built. I could not be happier. I have my first bikepacking trip scheduled for October 21-22 and can't wait to see how they work. You would be suprised at what you can pack into a seatbag. Thanks for all your help in getting the bags to me befroe my trip and making the ordering process easy...

I use a rechargable Niterider Moab. It is great for short races, but i would look for something that runs on AA or AAA batteries for longer events. I really like having the trail in front of me bright at night...

I purchased a seatbag and gas tank from Greg, I can't wait until they get here to try them out. Greg was very helpful and great to work with. He helped me in the sizing of the items and was it was easy to make the order and process the payment.

I do alot of Adenture racing and use only the base plate type compass. It is easy to use either with a map or just finding general direction. Look into Bruntons line.

I am looking for a new pair of MTB shoes. I currently use Nike, but they nolonger make the shoe. I have had them for 8 years and they have finely given up. I want a pair that is great for riding long and short rides and not kill my feet during hike-a-bike sections. I also don't want to pay a ton of money. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have never used a GPS for riding, just paper maps. I am holding out to purchase an etrex 20 and give it a go. I hope I am not to stupid to use it. I plan on using it for the Huracan 300 next year and hopefully the TDR in about 2 years. I checked with our LBS and he too can only order bike specfic GPS units.

Try the Garmin 500. All my friends who use them for biking love them and say they are easy to use.

I saw the eTex 20 on sale for $180.00 on Amazon with a 2 week delivery. It was actually cheaper than the Vista...

I am still looking to purchase a GPS for bikepacking. Would I be better off purchasing a Garmin Vista HCX or the newer eTex 20?  I don't want to get one and wish I had the other. I would like to use the unit on multi-day bikepacking trips.

I have plans in the works to do the TDR in 2013 or 2014 and was wondering how much it cost a racer to complete the course. Including flights, equipment, motel rooms and food? I have a savings account started just needed to know how much it was going to take on average.

Why not have a record for a Masters Division, say 50 years and older...It would give us older guys something to race for and create a race within a race.

I too, am in the market for a GPS unit for my bike. I am looking at the Vista HCX or the Delorme PN-60. I have very little knowledge on GPS. What would I be better with in the long run? I hate to spend good money and wish I had gotten something else.
