That's some pretty sahweet camera work. What do you use? I'm learning the nuances of my new Nikon V1. My bigger cameras won't fit on my bike...

Why can't I see pictures on this or any other thread?

Edit: now I can see them, after I post! WTH?

Thanks for the suggestions.

greenwater, interesting mount. I made a coke can stove which I need to practice with. I was hoping for something that could get the camera above the thick vegetation where I live.

MidSouth, I read that review of the zipshot too (on dpreview.com) but it seems many commenters complain it's flimsy. But, thinking about it, I don't need all 4 sections of legs, I could probably get away with 2. On a bike you have to make compromises. Maybe I'll give it a try.

Since many of us like taking videos of our bike trips, what do you use to mount the camera off-bike? As far as I can tell, a tripod is the only reliable option, but I haven't found any that are appropriately light to carry on a bike.

I am wondering, how well can you make an iPhone work as your GPS? I think soon the dedicated GPS companies will go out of business because phones will take over all those functions.

Perfect! Thanks for this report. I was just researching myself how to strap a pack raft to the bike. Those look like Alpacka Alpacas, right? I was wondering about how well they fit on a bike -- surprisingly small. And how well they handle loads and rough water. I can't believe you ran those waterfalls! You answered my questions! thumbsup

I am hoping to do a ride through BC's coast mountains this summer and I will need to cross some rivers and lakes.

I see some metal water bottles in photos here. I want to avoid getting cancer or developing female characteristics so I don't want to use plastic water bottles. Any suggestions for metal ones?
