This should be interesting...JayP seems intent, and even though I only know the guy through his adventures, I have a feeling that when he puts his mind to something, it'll be fun for the rest of us to watch! Is he carrying a spot so we can track him?

Wow! Chip's goal was 27 days and he does it in 21. That's moving...plus he's in the over 50 category...56 which I believe means he's the first person over 50 to finish. Great race!

Any word from Greg Strauser lately? He appears to be WAY off course south of Breckenridge. Hope all is well.
EDIT: Oh, never mind that. I see he went off-route north of Silverthorne, as well. Looks like he's decided to keep pedaling to an unofficial finish?
It looks like he was fine in Silverthorne. He is way off route at this point. He really booked it on that road up to 19mph but since he was just in Breck it makes no sense for him to high tail it to Fair Play...at least I can't think of a reason. It'll be interesting to see if he backtracks.

I've looked at Dave Meissner's tracker. Doesn't appear to be any sort of mechanical because he continued to move at a decent pace. He backtracked and then basically was in the same area for 20 minutes, and then continued back up. Maybe he lost something, noticed it, went looking for it, found it, repacked it and then his spot went off or he repacked his spot and it's not able to send a signal in it's current packed location. That's my guess but it's just a guess.

It'll be interesting to see what Eszter does tonight. I'm sure she can't wait to finish but I can't imagine her pushing through the night at this point...130 miles to AW. I don't think there's any way Dylan can catch her even if she does sleep tonight.
Update: Ha! We were all thinking the same thing at the same time!

I too laughed out loud when I saw cjell money's finish time of 4:20...read his blog, you'll understand. He seems like an awesome guy and has been a pleasure to read about and follow during the TD!

Looks like Cjell and Serge both have around 150 miles left to complete. I'd guess Cjell has the tougher terrain plus it looks like rain is forecast. Either way, both these guys have put in strong efforts. Jarral seems to moving well. The only way I think he'll catch Serge though is if he puts in an all nighter and Serge doesn't. Still a lot of good racing going on. Ezster is 5 days ahead of record pace...unbelievable!

I believe the Trackleaders times are official, but I could be wrong. Go to Trackleaders tour divide page, half way down is Leaderboard, hit Refresh below it, go all the way to the right (on Leaderboard), click on Antelope Wells to sort. You will see finishers and their finishing time.

It looks like Garrett and Kurt came in together at 16:22 (trackleaders reports Garrett at 16:22:00 and Kurt at 16:22:04 which more than likely means they rolled in together).

ekloko - you can always see finish times by looking at the trackleaders site, half way down, under Leaderboard. I find half the fun of this race is the challenge of following the racers, through spot, call-ins and eyewitness accounts. It's not Nascar so there is no birds eye view other than the spot's which, of course, are technology based and therefore glitches occasionally occur.

I'm not sure how you have a lottery for an event that isn't classified as a race but an ITT, has no formal sign up process, has no fee to start and is done on public lands. I was to start this year but was hit by a truck (actually, a trailer of a truck) a few weeks before the start which took me out. I'll be there next year come hell or high water...or more likely high snow Also, look at the spread of this years race...there's 100 people spread over 1000 miles. I don't see that as having much impact. Maybe the first couple of days. If this becomes an issue, you could start a faster group one day and a slower group the next. Pretty simple resolution. Train and don't worry about a lottery...IMO it will work it's way out.
