Considering the reported trail conditions, the Moving Average Speeds of everyone seem fast.
In 2016 Neil B's was ~6.2 mph.  Nate was 7.0 mph and the 800'ers still moving at present are 6.2 mph or faster

Is Alexandera OK?

He has not been showing up for days, even when on route
Or maybe whenever I look, he is off route

How come Nate does not appear on Race Flow on TrackLeaders?
Is he asterisked or something?
Also, has he been having bike trouble?

Garrett's dot shows that taking the trail on the North Rim, compared to the road, is only about 4 to 5 hours longer
I'm surprised. I thought the trail would be much slower
Must be in great condition.

Saw it with mine own eye's as he left Parker.
All I can think of all the sharp grass slicing between the toes would be like death by a thousand paper cuts.
It is not like the hike with bike on back, Rim to Rim, is already enough of a hair shirt experience

Did Alex Stephan really ride the Canelos in sandals?

Why did Garrett turn around last night?
Is there a burn area he didn't want to camp in?

long range weather forecast north of the Rim looks good too
Good Luck to everyone giving it a try this year

are trail conditions much slower now in the first 100 miles heading north bound compared to spring time?

you can choose to sleep low and warmer before you climb Lemmon or push on through the night until you get warm and low

What are the rules for Canadians visiting USA for non-essential purposes?
Google shows lots for Americans visiting Canada and that the land border is not open to Canadians, but do we have to quarantine 14 days after flying in?

I wonder how early winter will hit the North Rim?  Will anyone be able to finish the AZTR800 without using the snow detour?

Even if you add 24 hours onto JP's time for border to border (24 hours is approximately the fastest time from Banff to US border), it would still be more than Andrew's full pull time.
Regardless of my arithmetic, I agree with Kato's pronouncement of this year's winner.

Trackleaders is showing JP is sticking to the dirt, and hopefully not too much of the vice versa in case of rain

Big question here: will JP take the dirt after Cuba as he's been admonishing everyone to?  That could be a game changer if one of them goes one way and one the other!

He has no choice.  He signed up for the Classic route and rode that route so far, so can't change now.

and based on spot time stamp, Brendan may be ahead and first to decide, but he too signed up for the Classic route

What are those new icons on Trackleaders I haven't seen before? The legend does not provide info on them

a yellow square with two vertical lines might be a pause icon, but it should show up more often, and I only see it for JP

Why does JP have solid blue track point diamonds?

Holy Cow, you did all that in less than 24 hours.

I was wondering where you would camp, but I guess you didn't.
Do you think you could do the Whole Works route with almost no sleep?  Probably really difficult route finding in the dark with zombie brain. I was expecting that this route would suit Hares rather than Tortoises (rest and eat well frequently, and have the leg and mental energy for the orienteering, punchy climbs and technical riding), but I guess you will prove me wrong.

You went above the golf course on the west side of Mara Lake ??&%#^$??  I think the Rosemund Lake climb would have seemed easy after that, but it looks like you had a deadline to make it back home, and went todo directo

How is auto traffic on the west side of Okanagan Lake?

Again, impressive ride in such a short amount of time thumbsup
